Welcome to My Practice
Each of us faces times in our life when we experience emotional pain that needs to be handled in skillful ways. In those times, we need to see ourselves more clearly, find new responses to the same old triggers, and change patterns that no longer fit who we are. For over 30 years, I have been able to support others as they do this meaningful inner work.
After learning many eastern and western methods for the mind and heart, here are some approaches I could offer you:
If you have been living with chronic stress, anxiety, or depression, you may want to learn how to calm your mind and body with mindfulness, cognitive behavioral methods, or neurofeedback. Neurofeedback is an effective alternative to medication that helps you train your brain to have better control and stability. This will calm your body, improve focus, and balance your mood. If you have suffered trauma, EMDR is a method to help reprocess traumatic experiences and come to new understandings about yourself and your past.
If sharing your story in a safe setting is important, it is possible to learn ways to connect to your own inner wisdom and move beyond old limitations.
If you want to enhance or improve a relationship, there are inventories that identify relationship strengths and areas for growth. Click here if you’d like to learn more about this program.
There are approaches to help couples release stuck patterns and learn to communicate in clear, honest, and compassionate ways. See drsuejohnson.com for information on Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
Any of these methods may be helpful and would be determined in partnership with you to address your unique needs.
Most importantly, whatever approach to wellness you may desire, the process always includes the focus of healing the relationship you have with yourself. Learning to touch into your deepest inner experiences helps bring more truth to your life. By staying present to yourself, you release barriers to your heart and strengthen openness, acceptance, and courage. Click here for Rumi Poem.
